By-law committee:
The committee will send out revised bylaws to the board member in mid
August (around the 16th) for their review. The August board meeting
will start at 6pm to review the bylaws, discuss them and make any
revision suggestions. Revisions will be presented to the board in
September if there are further changes otherwise the bylaws will be
presented in the General Meeting.

We are still owed money for a neighborhood cleanup many months ago. The
reimbursement is being resubmitted.
Secretary's Report:
Karen is still unable to attend meetings. Ana Tomblin is the pro tem
secretary, no report.

Transportation:
Tree trimming and street resurfacing is happening in the neighborhood.
Will affect traffic.
Environmental:
Fletcher is working on a letter and a plan for the street triangle at
Willamette and Olin that the neighborhood will be taking responsibility
for. He will have the letter finished by the August meeting for our
review. He'll also have sign up sheets for volunteering to help with
planting or for donating plants. He will be contacting businesses to
ask for donations of plants, dirt etc...
Land Use:
Paul Maresh unable to attend meeting, no report.
Public Safety:
no report.
Website sign up sheet for help writing content and collecting
information was passed around.
Schools:
- The enrollment in Portland Public Schools has been falling.
- Watch the enrollment numbers for Marshall, Madison, Roosevelt and
Jefferson (those numbers will show the shift of students to other
neighborhoods).
- Watch the enrollment for schools in the suburbs, there seems to
be a shift of children into the suburbs.
No North Portland Chair's Meeting in July, next meeting is August 2nd.
Chair's Meeting with Lt. Keith Morse of N. Precinct:
- A question was asked about the Kenton community police bureau and
the number of officers there and their hours. It is still getting
started and organized so the number of officers and the open hours will
grow slowly. Officers do use it currently.
- It was noted that fewer officers are available to come to
neighborhood meetings but they are still requested by the community. It
is also very important that they come to the neighborhood meetings and
that there is not some other form of general meeting with the officers.
Meeting Adjourned 6:55pm
